I've spent a lifetime of thinking with my head on the ground
Never aware you were nearest when I was feeling down
Lost in a feeling that I tried to accept
When all I absolutely needed was for you to take my hand

Down the pages of my history reflected the ghost of long ago
I accepted it was something that I should really know
It appeared to me and I think I began to understand
That all I certainly needed was for you to take my hand
Through a thousand endless shores I could see you standing there
I know I had to stop and think for you I mildly care
But by then I was to young to want to understand
That all I certainly needed was for you to take my hand
My hand is reaching out; won’t you give me the chance?
If you will, please take my hand….
