The Most Haunted Place In Perak, Malaysia

(1) St Michael’s Institution, Ipoh

A group of Catholics missionaries arrived here in 1912 and began building a school next to the famous Kinta River. It did not take long for the missionary brothers who ran the school to have enough funds to erect a huge school building with unique French structural design. When the WW2 broke out, the school was used bu Japanese secret police as their headquarters. Needless to say, there were lots of torturing carried out. The buidling itself had many tunnels which had been sealed off and the tunnels were said to be used by the Japanese to torture prisoners and to store food. Most of the sightings occurs in the Chapel on the fourth floor of the bluiding where a Brother was seen dressed in a black robe holding praying beands in a sitting position facing towards the door (which leads to the brothers quarters) in the very early morning without a head. Those who had witnessed it were asked to keep it a secret.

(2) Malay College Kuala Kangsar, Kuala Kangsar, Perak

This school is said to be a former site of Japanese occupation camp during WW2. Students would sometimes be awakened by something that stares down directly at them. A marching platoon can be heard in the field and sounds of dragging chains can be heard through the campus corridors. A tree on the campus, which is located right beside a lampost where the light shines down on it, reflects a shadow of a man hanging from the tree! A few other old colonial admin buildings that were used by the Japanese during the Occupation in the 1940s where executions are taken place are buildings like Victoria Institution and Bukit Bintang Girls School.

(3) Tambun, Ipoh, Perak

Singtings of an old lady on the roadside while driving

(4) Tambun Inn, Ipoh, Perak

Lights were reported to turn on and off by itself and sounds of whispering could be heard where no one was around.

(5) Kellies Castle, Perak

Sometimes door are opened themselves and lots of scary screaming voices can be heard.

***Kellie's Castle was to surpass his estate bungalow. Seventy tough workers, mostly from Madras, were employed and bricks and marble were imported from India. But during the construction, tragedy struck. A mysterious illness broke out, killing many of Smith's workers. The superstitious Smith was told that a temple must be built to appease the gods. He immediately transferred his workers to build a Hindu temple nearby.

Work resumed after the temple was completed but the castle was never to be realised. Tragedy struck again. On a visit to Lisbon, at the age of 56, Smith died of pneumonia.

His wife, Agnes, sold the estate and with the passing of time, and the end of colonial rule, the castle soon faded into memory.

Located on a ridge beside a meandering river near the town of Batu Gajah, Kellie's Castle is easily spotted from the Batu Gajah - Jalan Gopeng. Etched against the blue sky, much of the structure is still intact.

Over the years, the sturdy castle appears to have waged battle against the undergrowth. Although once creepers sprout from its exterior and gnarled tree roots fill the compound, the interior is undamaged. Only the spiders and insects make home of the empty rooms.

Despite signs of decay, the castle exudes a certain air of dignity and grandeur. Moving from room to room, one can imagine the rich furnishings that would have filled the stately structure, had it been completed. As we wander around the castle, there is a eerie feeling of being watched. Sunlight streams through a series of arches on the two main floors, casting ghostly shadows on the verandah running the length of the building.

Perhaps, there is some truth to the local legend that the spirit of Old Man Kellie still wanders along the corridors...

SMILE

Smile with pleasure,happiness,amusement,
Spreading emotions throughout the world,
Smile can be spontaneous,
Smile can also be artificial,
Smile with the exposure of teeth or,
Smile with your lips or,
Smile with your eyes,
The choice is yours.
You can smile to show your love,
You can smile to show you care,
You can smile to cheer up the day,
It cost nothing only an effort,
To pass a smile from one to another,
Get the smile travel around the globe,
Because it can change the way you look,
The more you smile, the better you feel,
Smile speaks all kind of language.

The Most Haunted Place in the World

Built in 1796 by General David Bradford, this stately old home on Myrtles Plantation is said to be haunted be several restless ghosts. Some researchers say as many as ten murders have been committed there, but others, such as Troy Taylor and David Wisehart, have only been able to confirm one murder at Myrtles. (Those two authors provide a very good history of the house in their article, The Legends, Lore & Lies of The Myrtles Plantation.

Even they agree, however, that the place is seriously haunted and easily qualifies as one of the "most haunted." These are some of the ghosts that allegedly haunt the house:

* Cleo – a former slave who was allegedly hung on the premises for killing two little girls. (Those murders and even the existence of Cleo are in question.)
* The ghosts of the two murdered children have been seen playing on the veranda.
* William Drew Winter – an attorney who lived at Myrtles from 1860 to 1871. He was shot on the side porch of the house by a stranger. With his life's blood pouring from his body, Winter staggered into the house and began to climb the stairs to the second floor... but didn't make it. He collapsed and died on the 17th step. It is his last dying footsteps that can still be heard on the staircase to this day. (Winter's murder is the only one that has been verified.)
* The ghosts of other slaves allegedly occasionally show up to ask if they can do any chores.
* The grand piano has often been heard to play by itself, repeating one haunting chord

Now a bed and breakfast, The Myrtles Plantation has opened its doors to guests who often report disturbances in the night. My colleague, Stacey Jones, founder of Central New York Ghost Hunters, reports on her stay there:

"It was a spectacular place to stay, if you keep an open mind. While taking the guided tour, I saw what looked like a heavyset African-American woman wearing an apron walk by the door, on the porch. Thinking it was a worker in period dress, I peeked out and no one was there. We stayed in the children's bedroom, and my best-friend (who was a non-believer at the time) experienced quite a bit of paranormal phenomena. She was held down in the bed and constantly poked all night. She was unable to move or cry out for help. She didn't think the stay was as great as I did. They let you ghost hunt on the grounds whenever you like, but you can't ghost hunt in the main house without an escort. I suggest setting up a video camera in your room and bring a tape recorder to obtain EVP."

Eastern State Penitentiary has become a favorite destination for ghost hunters as well as the public at large since it has been opened to tours.

Built in 1829, the imposing Gothic structure was originally designed to hold 250 inmates in solitary confinement. At the height of its use, however, as many as 1,700 prisoners were crammed into the cells. Like many such places of high emotional stress, misery and death, the prison has become haunted.

One of its most famous inmates was none other than Al Capone, was was incarcerated there on illegal weapons possession in 1929. During his stay, it is said that Capone was tormented by the ghost of James Clark, one of the men Capone had murdered in the infamous St. Valentine's Day massacre.

Other reported haunting activity includes:

* A shadow-like figure that scoots quickly away when approached.
* A figure that stands in the guard tower.
* An evil cackling reportedly comes from cellblock 12.
* In cellblock 6, another shadowy figure has been seen sliding down the wall.
* Mysterious, ghostly faces are said to appear in cellblock 4.

Unfortunately, not all of these cells are open to the public, even on the tours.

This grand old ship is quite haunted, according to the many people who have worked on and visited the craft. Once a celebrated luxury ocean liner, when it ended its sailing days the Queen Mary was purchased by the city of Long Beach, California in 1967 and transformed into a hotel.

The most haunted area of the ship is the engine room where a 17-year-old sailor was crushed to death trying to escape a fire. Knocking and banging on the pipes around the door has been heard and recorded by numerous people. In what is now the front desk area of the hotel, visitors have seen the ghost of a "lady in white."

Ghosts of children are said to haunt the ship's pool. The spirit of a young girl, who allegedly broke her neck in an accident at the pool, has been heard asking for her mother or her doll. In the hallway of the pool's changing rooms is an area of unexplained activity. Furniture moves about by itself, people feel the touch of unseen hands and unknown spirits appear. In the front hull of the ship, a specter can sometimes be heard screaming - the pained voice, some believe, of a sailor who was killed when the Queen Mary collided with a smaller ship.

The original Waverly Hills Sanatorium, a two-story wooden structure, was opened in 1910, but the larger brick and concrete structure as it stand today was completed in 1926. The hospital was always dedicated to the treatment of tuberculosis patients, a disease that was fairly common in the early 20th Century.

It is estimated that as many as 63,000 people died as the sanatorium. Those deaths coupled with the reports of severe mistreatment of patients and highly questionable experiments and procedures are ingredients for a haunted location.

Ghost investigators who have ventured into Waverly have reported a host of strange paranormal phenomena, including voices of unknown origin, isolated cold spots and unexplained shadows. Screams have been heard echoing in its now abandoned hallways, and fleeting apparitions have been encountered.

In the article, Those That Linger, by Keith Age, Jay Gravatte and Troy Taylor, you can read more about these investigators' experiences.

Located in San Diego, California, the Whaley House has earned the title of "the most haunted house in the U.S." Built in 1857 by Thomas Whaley on land that was partially once a cemetery, the house has since been the locus of dozens of ghost sightings.

Author deTraci Regula relates her experiences with the house: "Over the years, while dining across the street at the Old Town Mexican Cafe, I became accustomed to noticing that the shutters of the second-story windows [of the Whaley House] would sometimes open while we ate dinner, long after the house was closed for the day. On a recent visit, I could feel the energy in several spots in the house, particularly in the courtroom, where I also smelled the faint scent of a cigar, supposedly Whaley's calling-card. In the hallway, I smelled perfume, initially attributing that to the young woman acting as docent, but some later surreptitious sniffing in her direction as I talked to her about the house revealed her to be scent-free."

Some of the other ghostly encounters include:

* The spirit of a young girl who was accidentally hanged on the property.
* The ghost of Yankee Jim Robinson, a thief who was clubbed to death and who can be heard on the house's stairway where he died, and has sometimes been seen during tours of the old house.
* The red-haired daughter of the Whaley's sometimes appears in such a realistic form; she is sometimes mistaken for a live child.

Famed psychic Sybil Leek claimed to have sensed several spirits there, and renowned ghost hunter Hanz Holzer considered the Whaley to be one of the most reliably haunted structures in the United States.

Raynham Hall in Norfolk, England, is most famous for the ghost of "the Brown Lady," which was captured on film in 1936 in what is considered one of the most authentic ghost pictures ever taken.

The Unexplained Site describes one of the first encounters with the spirit: "The first known sighting happened during the 1835 Christmas season. Colonel Loftus, who happened to be visiting for the holidays, was walking to his room late one night when he saw a strange figure ahead of him. As he tried to gain a better look, the figure promptly disappeared. The next week, the Colonel was again came upon the woman. He described her as a noble woman who wore a brown satin dress. Her face seemed to glow, which highlighted her empty eye sockets."

That's right, 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue in Washington, D.C. is not only home to the current President of the United States, it also is home of several former presidents who occasionally decide to make their presences known there, despite the fact that they are dead.

President Harrison is said to be heard rummaging around in the attic of the White House, looking for who knows what. President Andrew Jackson is thought to haunt his White House bedroom. And the ghost of First Lady Abigail Adams was seen floating through one of the White House hallways, as if carrying something.

The most frequently sighted presidential ghost has been that of Abraham Lincoln. Eleanor Roosevelt once stated she believed she felt the presence of Lincoln watching her as she worked in the Lincoln bedroom. Also during the Roosevelt administration, a young clerk claimed to have actually seen the ghost of Lincoln sitting on a bed pulling off his boots. On another occasion, while spending a night at the White House during the Roosevelt presidency, Queen Wilhelmina of the Netherlands was awakened by a knock on the bedroom door. Answering it, she was confronted with the ghost of Abe Lincoln staring at her from the hallway. Calvin Coolidge's wife reported seeing on several occasions the ghost of Lincoln standing with his hands clasped behind his back, at a window in the Oval Office, staring out in deep contemplation toward the bloody battlefields across the Potomac.

Located between Buffalo and Rochester, Rolling Hills Asylum's enormous 53,000+ sq. ft. brick building sits on a knoll in the hamlet of E. Bethany, N.Y. and has been a popular destination for ghost hunters for many years. Opened on January 1, 1827 and originally named The Genesee County Poor Farm, it was created by Genesee County to house those eligible for assistance including paupers, habitual drunkards, lunatics, the blind, lame or otherwise handicapped, orphans, widows, vagrants, and even a murderer or two. In the 1950s it became the Old County Home & Infirmary, and then in the 1990s was transformed into a set of shops and later an antiques mall. When the property owners, vendors and shoppers began to notice strange occurrences, a paranormal group was called into investigate and Rolling Hills' spooky reputation was born. Reports include disembodied voices, doors mysteriously held shut, screams in the night, shadow people and more.

Rolling Hills Case Manager, Suzie Yencer relates one chilling experience: "It was September 2007. While working a public hunt, we had a gentleman with us that was filming a documentary about the building. He wanted to try an experiment in one of the rooms. The room he chose was in the basement, popularly known as The Christmas Room. The experiment he wanted to try was to sit in the room with no lights or equipment on. The only light we would use was a pink glow stick in the middle of a circle of people. We also placed a small ball and a toddler size rocking horse in the circle. The gentleman conducting the experiment requested that only I talk and try to make contact with the spirits. The more I talked, the more strange occurrences began to happen. The glow stick started to move back and forth, and the rocking horse began to slowly rock. A few of the guests in the room including myself saw a hand and arm come out of nowhere and reach for the ball in the circle and then just vanish...."

Brief history: Completed in 1909 by Freelan Oscar Stanley (inventor of the Stanley Steamer automobile), this 138-guest room hotel in the Colorado Rockies is probably best known as the inspiration for Stephen King's book The Shining, which he wrote after staying at The Stanley, in room 217. King did not write the novel there, nor was the 1980 Stanley Kubrick movie filmed there, but the TV movie version of The Shining was used as the location. Today, the elegant hotel is a popular resort and destination for ghost hunters; a ghost tour is even offered to visitors.

Ghosts: Several apparitions and other phenomena have been reported throughout the hotel:

* The ghosts of Freelan Stanley and his wife Flora have been seen dressed in formal attire on the main staircase and in other public areas, such as the lobby and the billiard room.
* Mr. Stanley has also been spotted in the administration offices, perhaps to keep an eye on the hotel's books. The Flora's piano playing occasionally echos in the ballroom.
* Disembodied voices and phantom footsteps have been heard in the hallways and rooms.
* Staff and visitors have reported unseen hands yanking at their clothing.
* More than one guest has said they have awakened to find their blankets taken from their beds and neatly folded.
* The Earl of Dunraven, who owned the land prior to the Stanleys, is said to haunt room 407, where the aroma of his cherry pipe tobacco still can be smelled. A ghostly face has also been reported peering out of the room's window when it was not occupied.
* Room 217, where Stephen King stayed, was the site of a tragic accident in 1911: housekeeper Elizabeth Wilson was nearly killed by a gas leak explosion. Since her death in the 1950s, strange, unexplained activity is said to take place in that room, including doors opening and closing, and lights switching on and off by themselves.
* Room 418 is the most haunted room, according to hotel staff, apparently by the ghosts of children. Guests who stay there say phantom children can be heard playing in the hallways at night. One couple complained that the noisy children kept them up all night, although there were no children staying at the hotel at the time. Impressions of bodies have been found on the bed when the room as been unoccupied.
* The ghost of a small child who calls out to his nanny has been spotted on several occasions on the second floor -- including by Stephen King.

Then add in all the numbers ..

2 + 0 + 0 + 5 + 1 + 9 + 8 + 1 = 26

Then the results are more mixed than 9 will be mixed again as:

2 + 6 = 8

Then the second box is 8 ..
After that first box will be mixed with the second box

Self Tribute "Tickle Yourself on the Road to Success"

Worry about your character, not your reputation because your character is who you are; your reputation is what people think you are,'have you ever realized that when ...people say you've changed, its just because you've stopped living your life...THEIR way...(if u know what I mean)

So STOP and LIVE your life in your own way, makes yourself happy, have your own identity, personality and image and best of all believe in yourself and GOD.I'm not perfect and I'm glad because I think that would make me extremely boring.

"Laughter is The Closest Distance Between Two People"--Victor Borge

You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself any direction you choose. You're on your own. And you know what you know. And YOU are the one who'll decide where to go...— Dr. Seuss (Oh, the Places You'll Go!)

Tell me, do you struggle to wake up for work in the morning? Well, give yourself a break. You do get up eventually, don't you?

I don't know about you, but when I face tight deadlines, have to make do with limited budgets or a workload that never seems to let up, I find that a little humour can calm a tense situation.

Can you list five true facts about yourself? This is mine...
(1) I'm the only child.
(2) I'm allergic to dust.
(3) I love tea rather than coffee.
(4) I'm a listener.
(5) I dislike bitter medicine.

If you can make a list facts of yourself...you know what you NEED and WANT and say YES or NO whenever necessary...nobody can force you to do what you DISLIKE,human rights...:)

It's OK to feel sad and gloomy sometimes, for it was the sad moments of life that makes us realize our true potential. But it's not OK to feel gloomy for a too long period of time for it can literally suck our life.Find things you LIKE and make the best of it...music,laugh,comedy movies are such a natural healer....

Until then....cheers!

Music

Music is my best friend,
My direction, my motivation, my inspiration,
When I have music,
I swim the seas of pleasure,
Music has a magic power,
Brings out the best in me,
To live the life I see,
Spark a moment,conquer gloom,
Lift up souls and spirits, change a nation.

Music is my best dream,
It provides my comfort zone,
I stepped outside and let the change begin,
Reach my future with a smile,
Although the past won't help me in beginning new,
Through summer, autumn, winter or spring,
I knew I wouldn't fail because I wouldn't give up,
It didn't matter that I wasn't doing much,
I longed so much to do the things I'd never done before.

Music is my glorious prize,
I couldn't let my life go by just watching others win,
If I am afraid to venture out, what else left for me,
Start where I stand and never mind the past,
The future is my time, and time is fleet,
Beyond mysterious beyond,
It's the journey that's important,
Not the destination,
Today is a new day!

In time, we see the need for celebration,
As some of the sweet happiness of living,
So may you be happy at this time,

Nature

Starring the view of nature
From the mountains and the hills
From the seas and the streams
Among the flowers and grasses
Spreading their colors and smells
Paint the earth with pleasure

Wind blows whispering something
Across the cities, towns and countries
About the earth turning from green to yellow
About the sky turning from blue to grey
Haunting every kind of flora and fauna
Poisoning their solitary souls and life

We have said nothing yet do nothing
While the nature still breathes to survive
When will we learn to listen and start to feel
The anger, pain, sadness and hopeless
Stand still until the time to fall down
Suddenly silence hold us forever

STAEDTLER NOW & THEN...

Managing director of the STAEDTLER group: Mr. Axel Marx

Staedtler is one of the leading products from German which have become a household name in Malaysia over the years. Staedtler products are some synonymous in the market for drafting and writing materials and are considered as tools for the creative mind.

The name STAEDTLER is closely linked with Nuremberg’s pencil history. Long before J.S. Staedtler founded his pencil making factory within Nuremberg’s old city walls back in 1835, the STAEDTLER family had been hand-making this well-loved writing instrument for generations already.

In fact, the roots can be traced back to 1662 - the year in which first references to Friedrich Staedtler as a pencil-making craftsman were made in the city annals.

It was J.S. Staedtler who transformed the workshop into an industrial plant. On 3rd October 1835, he received permission from the municipal council to produce black lead, red chalk and pastel pencils.

By around 1840 J.S. Staedtler was already making 63 different kinds of pencil. In 1866, the company had 54 employees and produced 15.000 gross (= 2.160.000 pencils) per year.

Dr. Rudolf Kreutzer joined the company in 1905. His trips to Asia and North America soon led to a further expansion of the worldwide trading network.

It was under his leadership that a clearly structured range of high quality products was developed. He managed the company until the end of 1967.

STAEDTLER (Malaysia) Berhad initiated a Forest Management Project in September 2000. 20 hectares of forest reserve land near the town of Kemasul, in the State of Pahang, Malaysia serves as a platform for research on effective methods to replant and grow Jelutong (dyera costulata). Jelutong is a type of tropical wood, used in the manufacture of wood-cased pencils. Of the total land area, about 10 hectares are used for monoculture Jelutong plantation. The remaining 10 hectares are used for enrichment planting of Jelutong in a natural forest environment.

In September 2000, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed by:

1. The State Forestry Department of Pahang - providing land and site management.

2. The Forest Research Institute of Malaysia - providing the scientific support and Jelutong seedlings.

3. STAEDTLER (M) Berhad - providing the overall management and financial support.

After signing of the MoU, land clearing was carried out on the 10 hectare site, north of the Getah Planting Project, along the Belengu River near Kemasul. Thereafter, trial planting of the seedlings in the plantation, according to research patterns determined by the Forest Research Institute commenced. The Forest Department, Pahang also allocated a forest area, west of the Getah Planting Project near Kemasul, for enrichment planting. Jelutong seedlings were planted in this forest environment.

Their growth patterns are carefully monitored at regular intervals. A Management Committee consisting of officers from:

*

the State Forestry Dept., Pahang
*

the Forest Research Institute of Malaysia, and
*

STAEDTLER (MALAYSIA) BHD.

A Management Committee has been established to monitor the development of this project and to implement changes whenever necessary, to uphold the objectives of this project.

During the past 24 months, valuable scientific information on monoculture plantation and enrichment planting of Jelutong has been accumulated. The enormity of unforeseen setbacks, such as, root diseases, foraging by elephants and wild boars, and the plantation being inundated with water due to torrential rain or dry spells due to no rain, have all taken a heavy toll on the young seedlings. Today, both the monoculture and enrichment plantation are flourishing and under control.

Besides giving a useful resource back to nature, the learning experience from this project is a stepping stone for future plantation projects in Malaysia.

  • Songwriters who have supported him in the past include S. Atan, Manan Ngah, Michael Veerapan and Syed Harun. Even today, his songs are popularly played especially during National Day and Eid Fitr.
  • Sudirman was also the first Malaysian singer to perform at The Paddock at the Hilton of Kuala Lumpur in 1983.
  • He was the singing ambassador for companies such as Proton, Malaysia Airlines, Honda Cup and honored pioneer card member with Hong Leong Bank.
  • He was known for his versatility and sang Malay, Indian and Chinese songs with outstanding choreography.

  • Sudirman produced an album for his favourite nephew, Razman Azrai, under Sudirman Productions. Also known as Atai, he had a couple of hit songs that topped the charts in 1985.
  • In April 1983, Sudirman sang a song for the late Puan Sri Saloma titled "Mama". When Sudirman approached her shortly before her death, Saloma didn't believe him that he wanted to make a song about her.
  • In 15 April 1986, Sudirman held an open air concert on Chow Kit Road, which was the first time ever that a street concert drew a 100,000-strong crowd on a Monday night. It jammed the stretch of Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman, Jalan Raja Muda to Jalan Raja Alang.
  • A Malaysian English tabloid, The Star, wrote that "Kuala Lumpur came to a standstill and it had nothing to do with the recession, but with one man, Malaysia's top entertainer, an electrifying performance and most memorable night".
  • In 1989, Sudirman won the title "Best Performer" at the Asia Music Award 1989 contest at the Royal Albert Hall, London. There, Leslie Cheung (Hong Kong), Anita Sarawak (Singapore), Epo (Japan), Kuh Ledesma (Philippines) and many other singers represented their respective countries.
  • As Sudirman was known by many as "Malaysia's No 1 Entertainer", he was chosen to perform for Malaysia's SEA Games closing ceremony in 1989 and many others such as the opening ceremony of Sepak Takraw competition, Merdeka, New Year and other national functions. In most cases, he would use his own money to ensure a successful concert.
  • Sudirman also had a strong fanbase in Singapore, as evidenced from a large turnout during his concert at the Kallang National Stadium in August 1987. People came from all classes, races and ages. Kelvin Tan Look Siew, Director of Singapore Armed Forces Music & Drama company, said, "We wanted to bring down a prominent artist from the region and Sudirman's name automatically cropped up."
  • EMI London took him on to work together with Stock, Aitken & Waterman (British producer trio who took on Kylie Minogue, Jason Donovan and Rick Astley) for the world market with a song titled "Love will Find a Way". He was brought to The Beatles famous Abbey Road Studios and recorded the album, but died soon afterwards.

  • One of his books for children was recognized the best by Mobil-Mabopa, a Mobil Oil book writing competition.
  • Moreover,
-->he was also a journalist writer and columnist, who wrote on various serious issues. One journalist puts it, "It was quite difficult for us to concentrate on our job. The person sitting across the table during the meeting is a celebrity!" Those he interviewed include Tun Ghaffar Baba.
  • Besides singing and writing, Sudirman also acted in a film called Kami, which was released in 1982. It was about two destitute orphans who find each other amidst the Kuala Lumpur street life. This film also spawned a track, "Pelangi Petang" (Malay meaning "Evening Rainbow"), which has been heralded as an iconic song by Malaysia's music industry.
  • Sudirman also successfully hosted Malaysia's TV gameshow "Keluarga Bahagia Singer". This program was sponsored by a home appliance company then called SINGER.
  • Sudirman was also well known for his charity work with which he helped invite veteran artists in the slots of his singing shows aside from giving them generous donations. Money charity for mosques and people in need was something he would do willingly. During his life, he had also adopted and brought up an Indian boy from a poor family and he would actively seek charity work through the PAPITA (Malaysian Singer Association).
  • Moreover,Sudirman also became Malaysia's first successful singer entrepreneur promoting Malaysia's most famous carbonated drink Sudi with business magazines and TV programs from Australia to Hong Kong featuring the drinks. Within six months, Sudi broke five per cent of the carbonated drink market. Later, Sudirman opened a franchise of Sudi Shoppe apparel and a Sudi restaurant.
  • He was Malaysia's first singer to be on the cover of Malaysian Business and Asian Business magazine. He had a business office atop the UBN Shangrila Tower and Sri Hartamas. He also served as Vice President of the Singers, Musicians and Composers Association of Malaysia (PAPITA).

    • While singing at Butterworth, Sudirman suffered a stroke and collapsed on stage. His sister and Mohd Radzi Sheikh Ahmad (then lawyer, later Minister of Home Affairs) announced that Sudirman's stroke was the result of a cerebrovascular disease. He died at 4 a.m. on 22 February 1992 at the age of 37 in his sister’s (Datin Radiah) house in Kuala Lumpur.
    • Hundreds took part in his funeral procession. First, his remains were sent to his hometown in Temerloh, Pahang. Later, he was laid to rest at Chengal Muslim Cemetery, Temerloh, near the graves of his parents.
    • Sudirman Arshad was named 'Malaysia's Singing Ambassador' by the Malaysia Tourism Development Board (MTDC). He was the voice behind the MTDC (Malaysian Tourism Development Corp) tune, To know Malaysia is to love Malaysia which was composed by American Emmy, Grammy and Oscar nominated singer and songwriter Carol Connors. He was referred to as the 'Singing Dynamite' by Singaporean journalists. His singing brought him standing ovations in Australia (in Sydney and Melbourne), Japan, Kuwait and Hawaii including the United States. Simon Napier-Bell, the manager for George Michael's band Wham!, referred to Sudirman Arshad as the 'institution of Malaysian music industry'.
    • Sudirman's work was recognized by the industry when he was posthumously awarded an Anugerah Industri Muzik award and a street was named after him in his hometown of Temerloh. PAPITA created an award especially categorized under his name, which to this date has yet to be won by anyone.
    • In the Malaysia Book of Records, Sudirman Arshad was given a posthumous award together with P Ramlee, Mokhtar Dahari, Tun Ghafar Baba and Ramasamy Letchemanah (Mighty Man).
    • Among his songs are Tanggal 31 Ogos and Tegakkan Bendera Kita.
    • Local musicians who have played for him include Alex Boon, Jay Jay (singer guitarist), Hillary, Mac Chiew and Jenny Chin. Local women who have performed with him as his dancers (whom he refers to as "The Girls") include Joanne (Zainal Abidin's wife), supermodel Samantha Schubert and Linda Jasmine Hashim (now one of the leading dancing choreographer cum teacher in Malaysia's reality TV program show Akademi Fantasia).
    • Some Muslim fundamentalists and leftists detested his concert performances. Some even threatened and distributed warning pamphlets of "something would happen" during his Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) Bangi concert to deter people from attending. The concert was postponed following protests from the UKM students union body, its academic staff association and the dean of the Islamic Studies faculty and six other student bodies. This incident was captured by Zainuddin Maidin (then journalist, now former Minister of Information) in his book "The Other Side of Mahathir". He narrated that the then-Prime Minister had called a few ministers to his residence to review the situation as the issue reflected Malaysia's position in terms of modernization. The meeting led to the conclusion that the show had to be allowed to go on. Sudirman's fans turned up in the concert hall. He went about pleasing the crowd, crooning his hits. One campus resident said, "At last something alive has come here." The negativity surrounding the UKM incident was not long-lasting. The irony of it is that, a couple of years after Sudirman's death in 1992, UKM held a Sudirman karaoke competition.
    • However, Sudirman Arshad has somewhat been controversial. In April 2006, the Malaysian member of parliament from Sri Gading, Datuk Mohamed Aziz, commented that he regarded Sudirman as a "mediocre singer" and that he "could not even take on the member of parliament himself."

The moral of story is "Be who u wanna be and not what others wanna see"....I am sure God knows us well than the rest of other people...we can't make everybody likes us...but with our sincere personality, image, identity...people who got "brain" will notified and appreciate the joy that we bring to this world....as long as u know WHO U ARE...BELIEVE IT!

Allahyarham Sudirman had live well...I know if he live until today...he will come up with lots of idea in music industry....he did what he wanna do...he is a WINNER...he is a lawyer and an entertainer.

People always get wrong when someone different from them....somebody who had a different view of life...all the talent that Sudirman had was a gift from God. Even if someone had a bad relationship or did't get married at all but success in career...that didn't make someone a failure. People have a CHOICE. If they can't find someone to share their interest and life....it's OKAY! We are not alone as long as we believe in God and ourselves.

People should not judge someone by it's outlook appearance....that's why they said,"Don't judge a book by its cover", YES....outlook appearance is first impresion but for how long the appearance can hold the inside quality...FAITH or IMAN is the most important....we are human beings...nobody perfect! That's why God give us brain to think and choose between right and wrong...WORLD will be better if we can rid off the PREJUDICISM...

Although I was just a kid at that time...Sudirman is one of my Idol. May Allah (God) bless him forever. 22 February 2010 is his 18th Anniversary of his lost.....to all non Muslim fans who know him...give him a respect & pray in your own way...to all Muslim fans....Al-Fatihah....

    Kubur Allahyarham Sudirman

    SALAM TERAKHIR - SUDIRMAN
    Sampaikan salam buat semua
    Salam terakhir salam teristimewa
    Kepada kau yang tersayang
    Pada teman yang ku kenang
    Pemergian ku ini tak dirancang

    Usah bertanya mengapa aku
    Mengucap salam terakhir kepada mu
    Kerna waktu berputaran
    Bimbang tak berkesempatan
    Melahirkan kerinduan terhadapmu

    ( korus 1 )
    Demi sebuah kenyataan
    Yang amat menyakitkan
    Aku yang tidak berdaya
    Hanya berserah padaNya

    ( korus 2 )
    Salam akhir
    Salam yang teristimewa
    KepadaNya ku memohon keampunan
    MelaluiNya ku beri kemaafan
    Kepadamu

    ( ulang korus1, korus2 )

    Andainya aku punya waktu
    Masih ku ingin mengulangi semula
    Saat indah bersama mu
    Sayang tak berkesempatan
